Victoria House
A Home Where Every Resident Matters
At Victoria House, we do things differently. We’re a small, welcoming care home on the Isle of Wight that puts people before paperwork, stories before statistics, and individual needs before routines. Every resident arrives with their own history, preferences, quirks, and comforts, and we make it our mission to honour all of them.
We get to know each resident properly, with the support of family and loved ones, so we can build a care plan that actually reflects who they are. From their favourite morning drink to their lifetime passions, we use every detail to create a warm, personalised experience that feels like home, because it is.
Person-Centred Support
No two residents are the same, so no two care plans should be either. We take time to understand individual needs, habits, routines, and preferences, shaping daily life around what makes each person comfortable and happy.
A Safe and Supportive Environment
Our home is designed to feel calm, friendly, and familiar. Residents have the independence to enjoy each day at their own pace, with trained staff on hand to offer support whenever it’s needed.
Compassionate, Qualified Staff
Our team is made up of kind, dedicated carers who treat every resident with patience, respect, and genuine affection. We build real connections, the type that make residents feel understood, valued, and supported.
Family Involvement
Families aren’t “visitors” here, they’re part of our community. We work closely with loved ones to understand each resident’s life story, routines, and personal preferences. That insight helps us provide care that truly feels tailored.
Victoria House
Life at Victoria House
We believe life doesn’t stop when someone moves into care. It simply evolves.
Each day at Victoria House is shaped around connection, comfort, and joy, whether that’s meaningful conversation, shared meals, music, gentle activities, or quiet time. We create a space where residents can feel safe, respected, and free to simply be themselves.

Registered Manager and Nominated Individual
Claire Leggett
As the Registered Manager/Nominated Individual for the service my role is to oversee the smooth and effective running of Victoria House, ensuring we provide the highest standards of care, safety and service to our residents.
Offering support and guidance where needed, while also maintaining a wider view of the whole service to ensure we continue to meet regulatory standards and our residents’ expectations.
I have worked in health and social care for over 15 years, starting my journey as a Carer and working my way through a variety of roles to my current position.
This hands-on experience has given me a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards that come with providing high-quality, person-centred care.
I hold a Level 5 Leadership in Health and Social Care and working towards completing Level 7 Senior Management Qualification.
I also champion and support staff mental health and well-being.
Outside of work, life is just as busy! I am a proud mum to my young son, Oscar, and we enjoy spending quality time
Deputy Manager
Trudi Chamberlain
As a Deputy Manager, I work closely with the management team to help ensure the home runs smoothly and continues to provide the highest standards of care to our residents. My role involves supporting both the Care Manager and the wider staff team – offering guidance, promoting good practice, and helping to maintain a positive, supportive working environment.
I have worked within the care sector for 17 years; I started working within the community visiting clients in their own homes and supporting them to remain as independent as possible. From there I went to working night shifts in a care home and worked up to a Deputy Manager.
At that time, I gained my level 3 in Health and social care and then my level 5 in health and social care leadership and management.
I first joined Victoria House in December 2018 as Deputy Manager, after a short break away I returned to Victoria House as Head of Care in 2023 but have now stepped back into my previous role of Deputy Manager to support the home.
Person centred care is very important to me, and I believe the people we care for deserve only the very best care that we can provide along with dignity and respect, in a safe and homely environment.
I am family-oriented person. I have two daughters, three granddaughters and one grandson and in my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, as well as enjoying my garden and curling up with a good book on a quiet day.
